What we do

Aquaculture and biodiversity

Aquaculture has developed significantly in recent years. However, the optimization of many biological, productive and economic aspects is still necessary to achieve an efficient and sustainable supply of fish to humanity.

Animal nutrition

It aims to study and optimize animal nutrition, which constitutes the main cost of livestock farms. Furthermore, animal feed has important productive, animal health and even environmental implications.

Animal genetic improvement

The genetic study of the physiological and productive characteristics in rabbits and pigs is addressed, as well as the production and cryopreservation of gametes and embryos.

Systems and technologies of animal production

This research line focuses on developing and evaluating livestock production systems, so that they take profit of the genetic potential of animals. Our aim is to optimise resources, ensure product quality and minimise environmental impact.
